Self Portrait Project Assessment Guide
25% - Continuous Contour Practice (Summative, 25 points, Letter Grade)
As part of the self-portrait project, students will be assessed on their draft continuous contour portraits. They must have at least 3 drafts and showcase the techniques required for continuous contour. (Pencil kept on paper, no eraser, lines of equal value (no faint lines to hide connections between features). They must also be neat and showcase effort by the student

As part of the self-portrait project, students will be assessed on their draft cubist style sketches. They must have at least 3 drafts and showcase the techniques required for cubist style. Exaggeration, alteration, use of unnatural shape in facial features. They must also be neat and showcase effort by the student.

50% Self-Portrait Masterpiece
Self-Portraits should include finalized elements of cubism that include at least one use of alteration, exaggeration or unnatural shape. They are also to use colour to evoke feelings, emotions and expressions. They must include a (neatly) written rationale explaining their colour and shape choices for at least 3 features. The portrait should be neat, purposeful and cohesive. This should be a valued piece of work that the student would be proud to display.
